A# is assigned during I-140 approval process. Unless you get an approved I-140 from your employer it is difficult to get the A#. BTW, I didnt knew my A# so I just left that field blank and sent I-140 Tracking number instead.

Could you please tell what is your spouse's H1B validity date? Mine is 09/30/2007. Will they deny my wife re-entry into US since there are only 2-3 months left?

One interesting point that came out of that recent hearing.
PD movement results in both 485 approvals + new 485 filings. CIS blames backlogs partly due to the policy that allows 485 filing whenever PDs are current. if PD movement results in 5 approvals, it also results in 10 new 485 filings and thus a backlog is built over which they have no control.
So in their opinion, PD movement should only control approvals & 485 filings should be controlled separately. If this happens, there would no backlogs and no one will ask them any questions or drag them to court for hearings!

I think there is a need to educate politicians that the problem is not H1B but GC backlogs. As per USCIS only 7100 H1B's have been utilized so far for FY 2012. Unless they provide clear and time bound path to Permanent Residence, positive economic contributions from high skilled immigrants would be minimal.

Like RAgz4u said, with a tight rope walk, it will be extremely difficult to get our amendments to pass.
Without that, even if the bill pasess and lets 12 million undocumented
folks get in the line, it is drastically going to clog USCIS which
may screw us up badly.

I am very thrilled at the news that our President has own the highest honor of this world.
Hearty Congratulations Mr. President !!!!
I and my family feel immensely proud that we are able to live in this country of freedom governed by a great leader like you.
Mr President you are the symbol of hope not only for the citizens of USA but also for all of the immigrant community. You have raised our hopes that we will also be able to become a citizen of this great country soon. Your selection as the Nobel Peace Prize winner has strengthen this hope further. Sir, Please do not belie our hopes.
Please revamp the current immigration rules and provide immidiate attention to the immigration reform. Sir, we all are looking up to you.

And if being simply president was creterion than our ex-presidente (Mr Cheney ... oops Mr. Bush ;)) would had got 8 noble prizes + 4 from Papa. It re-inforces my opinion that europeans are ... simply out of touch w/ reality. Look america has already showed world, it can elect a black as a president from country of pre-dominatly white ( still white, check census). And what have these european self-labeled-elites done comparably?

You are not the only one....my application was also sent on July 2nd and I got FP notices (both my wife and I) and AP approved (both my wife and I).
My wife received EAD on 10/22 and so far there has been absolutely no update on my LUD and EAD application is still pending. The service center is Nebraska and I am the primary applicant. I think there a a lot of people in the same boat.
I'm on the same boat and I scheduled an INFOPASS apt and she asked me about biometrics for my I765 and I showed the receipt which I have done for my I485. She immediately responded saying is was for I485 and you need to do one for I765 and then your EAD card will be approved. My bio is scheduled for 01/26.

My wife's EAD was applied on July 30th. She didnot recieve her EAD for 90 days, hence we took a infopass appointment and went to the local office on 92 nd day. They have informed us that they had sent a RFE on 88th day of filing and we need to wait for another 90 days after we send a response to the RFE.
Strangely the RFE that she got is for Birth Certificate which is not a required document for EAD.
I did not read anywhere that 90day count starts from the day when a response to the RFE is sent.

We are working on 3-4 amendments that reduce retrogression and help with backlog candidates with longer H1 extensions (Instead of 1 year H1b extensions).
Please keep in mind the Core group has given 3 months of devoted time and its in core group's interest also to get things done.
These amendments will go into the final bill before the debate is over and we will let everyone know the time/date details just a few moments before they are being introduced, if its possible to do that.
The WSJ article was aimed with a different purpose addressing the republican candidates who have taken a strong stance against latino population and its election consequences. It would not have been good to get ourselves mentioned in article that has largely advocated illegals. We have been trying to separete ourselves from illegals. Remember???
Regarding the media exposure for us, QGA has given us Roll-Call article exclusively for IV, NBC appointment(Siva was on NBC last week on Brian Williams) etc.
Please be patient and trust us, we are in the same boat as you are and we would appreciate a little patience for a little more time please.

At least it relieves some tensions when we do the predictions. These are vents for those who have been in the queue long time waiting for the Golden card (GC). Well, some of them would be sore on the looonnnng process.
We know that the relief is short lived once the bulletin come out.
Same things have been circling on and off.
Why should'nt EB3 move? EB2 alone need not move. The more things move in the immigration front, the more we could expect that they are trying to support the program than bust it.

The road is long and hard. I am sure all our hard work is going to pay off. This is not the time to get impatient or frustrated. Remember we are all in this together. Let's be patient and wait for things to unfold.
