What will students get out of it? Their Green cards are not stuck? Are you offering them H1B visa that they desperately want? They do not care about Green cards. They only care for scholarship, a job after graduation and H1B sponsorship from the employer. You are offering nothing from this list.

If we cannot help ourselves and stand up for ourselves, nobody else would.
I am trying to take at least a day off from work. I would lose money from my wages if I take day off but I am ready to lose money for the sake of doing something good for myself and family. Others who are sitting on their armchairs should also consider coming to DC if they want their greencards.

So you want a Greencard? Before you are too old to actually do something with it?
You've worked all your life to get something decent back. Went to decent schools, worked hard in your 10th and 12th grade, earned your bachelors. Now what?
"Hey, Look, US is hiring IT people". 24 hours of flight. You land in America. Life is one sweet deal. You are making money in dollars. Japanese cars. Japanese cellphone. American salary. Italian food. Camcorders. Big Screens. Nice laptops. Las Vegas. Cruises. Pride in work. Pround parents at home.

But then its temporary. You need green-card to make it permenant. Then our of nowhere, the word "Retrogression" hits you and ruins your party. You start praying. Look at visa bulletins. Make sure you stop browsing too much internet at work and start working harder to make sure your project lasts longer and you can keep extending your H1s forever.
There is ANOTHER WAY. Its called REACTING to the problem by DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
People like you and I, who have lost our sleep due to retrogression have gathered together and joined hands to pool resources and hire a professional lobbyist to help push legislation in congress that will raise EB Greencard quota and allow you to file for I-485 even if priority dates are not current.

Go there. Read the mission of the org. Its non-profit. Its free to join/volunteer and contribute your thoughts. See if its something you can relate to. If you feel comfortable and can trust, then contribute money. If not then you can still post on threads and forums and contribute your thoughts and give ideas. i just read on another forum, that about 70,000 visa's come up for the new fiscal year which starts 1st october, so it might take a couple of months to see any movement, but it will happen, as they have got to wait and see and get a better feel for how many filers there were for july/augest, as they havent processed them all yet, then we will see something happen. so lets wait and see what the Nov bullitin says, and if the rally had any kind of effect.
140K visas come up for the new fiscal, not 70k. Those 140k are somewhat evenly split (20-30% each) across teh four quarters (its not an exact science, but thats the order in which USCIS requests visas from Dept of state). So the number of visa numbers used up in october is going to be much lesser than 70K, probably around 10-12k.
The backlogs are right now way too extensive to result in any major movement of PD with current quotas. If dates move in November, they are only expected to creep along... I hope I am wrong, but thats what it looks like

Now only people who have studied or worked in Canada on work permit are eligible.
family based is greatly restricted unlike US where around 80 is non-skill based.
That may be the unofficial version. Officially you can apply even you haven't worked or studied in Canada if you qualify as a skilled worker with a year of experience. You get extra points for having a job offer from a Canadian employer but not having one does not disqualify you automatically. I'm not talking about getting the GC. I'm just talking about the application process. Some kind of processing is needed even to reject an application and I do not think USCIS is capable of handling the increased traffic that switching to a point based system would result in.

Schedule A group 2 is "exceptional ability" similar to the EB1 but with less stringent guidelines. You have to show international acclaim. I work for a non-profit that has international links.

One filed, it is the application ND that takes priority. For example, if there are two EB2 applications, and the PD for the two are Aug 2002 and Aug 2004, and the ND for these two are June 2006 and Jan 2006 respectively, the applicaiton with ND of Jan 2006 gets priority, provided both PD are current.

I do have the Employer and Attorney details. I searched based on that. Reg, case number, which case number we have to use, the backlog center number or any other number? I do have a copy of the approval letter received from backlog center.

My kids didn' go to day care until they are 1.5 years old, then they want to babysitter , they started going to day care after 2.5 years. Day care is right place for kids after 2 years, because they need other kids to play, staying home is boring for them. I have personally experienced this.

Company A CANNOT revoke approved I-140. I have checked this with 3 to 4 attorneys & also with Gurus on this forum. Only the USCIS has the authority to cancel the approved I-140, if it detects that it was obtained fraudulently.
One more suggestion, ask company B to file your H1 with Premium processing. Once you get H1 approval then submit resignation to Company A.
