Most of the IVans have given good suggestions though no one is a pro on domestic violence case. We are not in stone age - Personally, I dont like any kind of violence against women including the people who does. I think you should get a good attorney, prove that you are innocent and move on.

I just renewed mine today (FL). It was the regular drill: passport, i-94, social security card (optional) and that's it. My new DL will be in the mail in 30 days. In the meanwhile, they gave me a paper one.

I have a question regarding an appeal I did a year ago for a rejected LC.
I have an approved LC and I-140 on an entry level position (EB3) with my company. after I got a promotion to a senior position that requires a masters degree but with a smilar job description but more senior and supervisory responsabilities with the same company. after promotion, I filed for a new LC (EB2) but it got rejected because DOL thinks it is the same position as the already approved LC. my company and I wrote a letter as an appeal on Sep 2006 within 30 days from rejection of LC to BALCA explaining that new position requires a masters degree and it is a senior position with more supervisory duties. as of today, almost a year later, we haven't heard anything regarding DOL (BALCA) decision on my appeal. is anybody in the same situation?? what should I do next?? also I read somewhere that DOl might revoke the already approved LC EB3 after I filed a second LC for EB2 with the same employer. can DOL revoke the first LC EB3 after I have an approved I-140?? please help. Why are we discussing this subject when it will do nothing to take us closer to getting the GC? In almost each social event, I have heard this subject being talked by my fellow friends. But discussing it on IV forum does not serve much purpose.
To me, it seems in the conversations about this subject (not just this thread, even in social events), each person is trying to find a group of people that agree to his or her thoughts. That makes the group then feel better. But what do we all do the next day, pray that we get the GC fast. People who want to really go back to their country do not take much part in these discussions. They just pack up and go.
If we are spending any time on IV, it should be focussed on our effort to get the GC. Or to help someone of us facing an immigration related issue.

I am exactly doing the same thing that anandrajesh mentioned above. I have my tickets booked for Nov 21st and its already more than 60 days for me. I have called them to expedite it. will be faxing the documents and letter to local congressman and uscis ombudsman today. I am not even sure why we pay so much of money to these people and do all this to just do their work. But what can we do, we are at their mercy.

IV is not yet a very high traffic portal. Usually ad space prices range from a dollar to couple dollars (if that!) for every 10,000 impressions. So this may not be a practical thing to do, given the very low returns for the associated effort.

I do make a clear distinction between good players and bad apples. If you cannot understand, let me know I will put it in simple words!!! Doh!!!
I don't see that "some" word either in the title or the content of the thread. The point is you are trying to color all companies in the bad light for your own satisfaction. I guess you work for one of the direct companies.

What about the false promises and carrots and propaganda of liberty, equal opportunity and land of opportunities? Of course they wont say its land of indentured servitude. Its our fault that we didn't figure this out, isn't it?

Try telling what your salary is to a person who is making the national average.
All the rhetoric about going back to India (yes I have seen random cases, heard anecdotal cases) is nothing but empty threats. I do not see mass exodus and highly doubt if it will happen in the near future.
Waiting for GC and then citizenship being hell kind of statements is doing more of a disservice than any real effort to help our cause. Growing up and acting like mature professionals with a proper plan like many active members who are working so hard is so much better than to open childish threads (the last para is not directed at you).

Why quote some other tracker site, Lets quote figures from tracker on this site. In my opinion that site is anti-immigrants because their business thrives when people's applications are pending, so they would not want the applications to be approved. That's my fundamental difference with them.
