Are there any implications of leaving my employer now who sponsored me for GC? I got my GC on the first week of July. I plan to leave on the 1st week of September. Thank you very much.

Addendum: I applied for AOS for my spouse this July. Will there be a problem with her AOS?

I am not sure if you GOT GC or you filed 485.

Based on AC21 law, you have to stay atleast 182 days after you file 485. More so if your I-140 is still pending.

So I would say 182 days from the receipt notice of 485 is mandatory to avoid complications. It should not affect your citizenship. I have 100s of friends who have invoked AC21 and quite frankly I dont care about citizenship. One thing at a time :)

I have noticed that most "overzealous" CBP officials are found in smaller airports. Large airports like JFK, DC, Miami, SFO etc have efficient and effective CBP officials - they are really busy doing their jobs and don't have time to overdo their job.

A majority of CBP officers in airports are polite and thorough.

A recent post asking about how many people have EB2-India PDs of 2003 or earlier had no responses, so I am curious about the potential spread of waiting people (atleast in the sample set of whoever responds to this poll).

RESPOND ONLY IF YOU ARE EB2 INDIA, HAVE FILED 485, AND ARE WAITING FOR APPROVAL.

(we can do separate polls for EB3-I, china, ROW etc)

Yep, looks like prior to oct 2003 all got approved in EB2. Good sign. This poll would give us pending cases for 2004 now.

Nice information. Could you tell me what precautions I have to take now while filing my 485 if if I have intended to use AC21.

Nothing. Just intent to work for sponsoring employer permanently. This intent can, however, change after 180 days of filing I-485 (if it is still pending). Important: This intent should not change until 180 days.

Like what documents I need that time?
New Employment Verification Letter from new current (or future) employer and letter to USCIS notifying that you are invoking AC-21.

Do I need 140 copy that time too?
Not Needed, but nice to have.

I only meant if you have the native country license already or if you can get it remotely. Leaving the US for the express purpose of getting you native country license would be an overkill...as you would agree :)

Unfortunately, I can't leave the US for the following reasons
a) AOS pending
b) H1 expiring soon
c) Won't get any vacation time as just joined a new job.
